Duoc UC is a non-profit, private institution of higher education. It offers two and a half year Technical Programs and four-year Professional Programs. Duoc UC has more than 107.000 students and 18 campuses in Chile, located in different regions of the country. In 2017, the Institute received a 7 out of 7 years of institutional accreditation from the National Accreditation Agency, which certifies the quality of our educational offer and its relevance among the higher education institutions in our country. Only four higher education institutions in Chile have been granted this distinction. Duoc UC is the only Professional institute, alongside with, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad de Chile and Universidad de Concepción, the most important Universities in the country, to have ever received this recognition.

Duoc UC is a UNESCO-UNEVOC centre (International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training), part of the board of the WFCP (World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics), we are also members of “Learn Chile”.

The School of Tourism at Duoc UC runs two programs related to nature-based tourism matter. The first one is a technical program called Adventure Tourism which lasts 5 semesters, and the second one is a professional program called Ecotourism, which lasts 8 semesters. In total the number of students is 1224, spread throughout five campus along Chile. Duoc UC expertise in the Ecotourism field, under a Chilean context, would be a great contribution to the project. Though, the international vision of the other participants would also be of interest for Duoc UC. Duoc UC main objective of participating in this project is to develop continuing education alternatives to our alumni, so then an Ecotourism Diploma fits perfectly in the natural career development path particularly if it is an international joint program.
